With the effects of COVID-19, it is hard to view summer with the same attitude as we have in the past. 2020 is already different from what we had in mind. That doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy some new books to mentally escape from the world’s realities. At Roberto Coin, we are particularly passionate about reading. So in honor of the upcoming season, we’ve gathered our top books for summer reading. Prepare to delve in!

 

“Big Summer” by Jennifer Weiner

Best-selling author Jennifer Weiner has done it again – USA Today has called it the perfect quarantine read. This book takes you on journey about friendship, family and finding yourself.

 

The Vanishing Half” by Britt Bennett

The most anticipated book of 2020 is a must read this summer. A page-turner about two twin sisters who — even though are far apart — are still connected. Bennett tells a story about a family and their history from the 1950s to the 1990s. You will learn how the past can shape your entire life.

 

The Guest List” by Lucy Foley

Until death do us part is taken literally in this new novel. Think the game ‘Clue’ but with the addition of a wedding. Foley turns these nuptial celebrations dark with someone ending up dead at the end of the night.

 

Afterland” by Lauren Beukes

Take a break from the global pandemic we are actually living and read “Afterland”. This story begins three years after a pandemic and most of the men are gone. It is the mystery/thriller we have all been waiting for.

 

Beach Read” by Emily Henry

Reading “A Beach Read” on the beach doesn’t get any more literal. Two writers living next door to one another for three months:  Will they fall in love? Will they finish their books?

 

“Darling Rose Gold” by Stephanie Wrobel

2020’s MUST READ NOVEL.  Everyone loves a mother/daughter story. This is a thriller about mental illness, lies, and betrayal. You will not want to put this book down.

 

Untamed” by Glennon Doyle

 Doyle gives us a memoir along with the wake-up call that we all need. This book teaches you how to be brave and to just be yourself. Get your neon highlighter ready, because she is giving us the facts of life that we all need right now.
